Sinopec weighs refinery project in Sri Lanka

Sources say China's Sinopec plans to finish a feasibility study by June for construction of an oil refinery in Sri Lanka's Hambantota port, which is operated by China. The estimated $4.5 billion project, which would focus on the Sri Lankan energy market, could put Sinopec in direct competition with India's efforts to provide energy to the island country, according to sources.
